It is true that diesel generators consume comparatively less fuel per kilowatt of electricity and are more fuel efficient than generators that are powered by natural gas or gasoline.
Maintenance levels are low and diesel generators are much safer because they work on direct generation and as they have no spark plugs it makes them relatively fire retardant.
As diesel has a longer shelf life it can be stored for over a year as it is the least flammable source of fuel.

When ever I go for generators for hire, I usually pick generator on diesel mode. It is cheap, economical and generates more power.
